Stop the Offender Program

The S.T.O.P. program, a specialty community based juvenile court program, is an outpatient group treatment program that is currently offered for pre-adjudicated youth who have committed sexual offenses in their home, school, or local community. Some youth pose a greater risk than others, some have more complex treatment needs, some are more amenable to treatment than others, and some have more supportive and stable families than others.

The intensive outpatient group is 5 weeks long, and offered on rotation in both Mobile and Baldwin County in order to conveniently serve both juvenile courts. The weekly groups teach multiple skills that allow students to identify past thinking errors, while creating new behaviors, and a lifelong commitment to keeping themselves and others safe.

Upon completion of the program, students will be required to take and pass an assessment quiz, while also drafting and presenting their good life plan. For probated juveniles referred, a completion risk assessment is made available for referring court personnel by request.

This is our only program with no community service involvement. All youth participating in this program will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity, and client, victim, and family confidentiality will be maintained at all times.
